JAMB Subject Combination for Marketing
Marketing is a business-related course that focuses on how products and services are promoted, sold, and delivered to customers. It covers areas such as advertising, sales, consumer behaviour, market research and brand management.
Students who study Marketing learn how businesses understand what customers need and use that information to develop and promote products. The course also prepares students for careers in sales, advertising, public relations, market research, customer relations and other areas of business.
If you want to study Marketing at a Nigerian university, you need to meet the JAMB and O’Level requirements for the course. Below are the JAMB subject combination, cut-off mark, admission requirements, and the universities offering Marketing in Nigeria.
JAMB Subject Combination for Marketing
If you want to study Marketing, you need to choose the correct subjects when registering for JAMB. Your UTME subject combination must meet the requirements for the course, otherwise you may not be eligible for admission into Marketing. For Marketing, the JAMB UTME subject combination is:-
- English
- Mathematics
- Economics
- Any other Social Science subject
Use of English is also compulsory for all JAMB candidates, so you will write English Language alongside the three subjects above.
JAMB Cut-Off Mark for Marketing
The JAMB cut-off mark for university admission in 2026 is 150. This is the minimum score candidates need to meet to be considered for admission into a university.
However, getting 150 does not mean you will automatically gain admission to study Marketing. Many universities set their own cut-off marks above the JAMB minimum, depending on the school and course.
If you want to study Marketing, you should aim for at least 180 in JAMB. This will give you a better chance of meeting the cut-off mark set by your preferred university and being considered for admission.
O’Level Requirements for Marketing
To study Marketing, you need at least five O’Level credit passes in the required subjects. These credits should include:-
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Economics
- Two other relevant subjects
The result can generally be obtained in not more than two sittings, although some universities may have additional requirements.
